Snokuhle Mthembu (Gr10) won 1st prize in the jazz category in the Yamaha National Young Soloist Competition. The final round took place at Yamaha World in Johannesburg at the end of June. Sno (standing, fourth from left) was the youngest competitor in the jazz category and performed as the lead pianist with a professional trio. The competition consisted of three rounds – an online video submission, a live audition in front of a travelling jury, and finally the gala concert event.
